Same. I much prefer the first couple. Natsuki seemed to change too much from the first couple to his own story. Plus I didn't like the uke. I don't know why people voted down your comment for preferring the non rapey couple over the rapey uke but it's pretty par for the course, here, I guess, sadly.

My guess is that the eye color difference is more of a stylistic choice for the benefit of the reader, instead of a in-universe fact that everybody inside it can see. Just so that it's easier for us readers to tell them apart.
