Fuck it, I'm explaining. Yes, it's me, Kin again!

We start with Minhoon and Hyungwoo who accidentally became kin because he was drunk one night. Then Minhoon was introduced to this new world about vampires, him as a kin, assimilation, domination, etc. Then we have chief who's supposed to be the co-worker of Minhoon who's actually hundreds of years old and a kin to a ginger boy named Edric. Edric over here wants to take down the 'big baddie' aka Dad/CEO/Father of Hyungwoo. Y'see, Hyungwoo had a big fight with his family cuz they killed his kin and then he slaughtered a bunch of people and then left because he hates his dad's guts and doesn't want anything to do with them.

Edric's reason for taking down Father is because he wants his kin, Sangyeul/Chief, to be free and live the rest of his life with him. What's this about being freed, you ask? WELL. It's all about KIN MANAGEMENT SYSTEM. Let's rewind a little.

THE KIN MANAGEMENT SYSTEM was propsed by Edric himself. Back then Hyungwoo's family used to kill kins. Chief gave his blood to Edric who almost died doing clan business stuff back in the day. And in order to spare Chief's life, Edric made a deal with Father. Edric has to become administrator/manager of the Kin system under Father's command.

The original kin system had something to do with making hostages by exploiting the relations between Vampire and Kin.

BEFORE: manage vampires by taking kin hostage, slaughtering those who disboyed
PRESENT: manage them by making them destroy themselves without killing them directly

What's this shit about kins and vampires you ask?
They're actually quite similar to each other. They both have eternal life, can control physical growth, and their senses are heightened. The only thing that's different is that kins don't need blood to survive and there's a tremendous difference in strength.

BACK TO THE STORY.
The whole point of the kin system is more or less blood distribution. Kins provide the blood vamps need and Hyungwoo's family is incredibly powerful because of this system they deviced. Edric proposes a plan to close off that system so that they can overpower the Father so that Hyungwoo can disarm him with the "dominate" power (aka the weird red blood aura shit permeating the area that holds power over kin and vampires alike). The only one who can hypothetically stop him is his pure-blood son, Hyungwoo (he's only an 'infant' though so going toe-to-toe without prep is a death sentence). But things didn't go as planned.

Edric's initial plan to stop dad:
>drama shoot location in rural area to get dad away from gunchan
>temporarily stop blood pack distribution
>split into two teams
>team 1 (lil bro and edric will split up to stop blood distribution)
>team 2 (hyungwoo w/ minhoon stops father, chief infiltrates hotel to get gunchan)

What actually happened:
>edric disrupts the blood disrtibution by himself, gets shot a lot
>hyungwoo leaves minhoon behind, rescues gunchan, heads to set to stop dad
>lil bro stays behind to protect the human kin (gunchan, minhoon, chief)
> father predicted everything they did and called minhoon to work for him instead
>minhoon takes the offer but has a couple of conditions

SO what's this condition Minhoon made and how the fuck did he make father say yes?

Minhoon has this strong sweet scent. It seems defenseless but it's actually overpowering when used as a weapon (HENCE THE TITLE OF THIS MANHWA, THE SWEETEST MAN). Minhoon can use his scent to force vampires to stop where they are, and his in particular can fill an entire building. It could be use as a weapon.

To test this theory, Minhoon needs his blood and his mindset thrown into an extreme situation. Lil bro proposes to bite him to get things started. The compulsion of the scent is faint. Edric, who had people standing by with silver bullets-- shoots Gunchan on the shoulder to throw Minhoon off balance. This triggers Minhoon's panic, letting his scent flood through the room. It managed to stop all the vampires on their feet (lesser vamps collapse while the more powerful ones suffocate), proving their theory about Minhoon's scent true.

(LATER we see the same thing happened when Minhoon's bandage was ripped off by a staff. He later comes back, brandishing his sweet scent as a weapon to intimidate the vampire sponsors who visited the photoshoot to size up Minhoon as the new manager!)

He used that same overpowering scent to sort of control Father. It didn't really work as planned but it got the attention of Father who eventually agreed to meet with Minhoon again to compromise things.

SO. MINHOON'S PROPOSAL.

Instead of Edric, Minhoon will be the one working under Father. He gets full rights and complete independence to manage the kin (to break the corruption of the current kin system) and in exchange, Hyungwoo can be closer to his vampire people (which is basically what Father wants).

Father says he'll think about it until the end of the drama shooting. However, he wants to test Minhoon's potential and conviction. If he likes what he sees, he'll agree to the separated kin management system and pass Minhoon off to train in Europe.

This test is basically to take over Edric's previously assigned tasks: handling product placements, choosing and matching said products, contacting sponsors, etc. It might sound mundane but it's a good way for Minhoon to get used to multi-tasking while meeting the sponsors (aka the vampire affiliates who want to check on this new "manager" that isn't a vampire).

For the future plans regarding the kin system, Minhoon wants everyone's freedom so there's no need for 'management'. No need to restrict their freedom, and givee support to people who need it.

That's all well and good, but what's up with Gunchan and Father, you say?

WELL, that's another long explanation. Father has always been interested in Gunchan and his strange condition. Gunchan isn't affected by the Domination and all that other stuff unlike other humans/kin. Gunchan, on the other hand, finds Father just as interesting. As a writer, it's just in his blood to be curious and thirsty for these kind of things. He was the one who pointed out the similarities between kin and vampire, and figured out that there's more to their relation apart from just being a "food source".

As the story progresses, we get to see the Father and Gunchan's intricate relationship. About how the Father is slowly getting a soft spot for the writer and how Gunchan picks up a lot of tiny details (as the other's kin) that Father seems to hide from everyone else. And Father's not used to being vulnerable and seen by someone, let alone a kin.

Just a little info, someone theorised Father used to have kins back in the day but considering how powerful he is, it doesn't take too long before the kins' sanity start to degrade. And since Gunchan can handle it because of his condition, it was only a matter of time. Now I don't know if this is true. We're still in the middle of watching their relationship unfold. There's also the matter of Father's wife aka Hyungwoo's mom who used to LOVE humans but because humans killed her last pure-blooded sister during a witch hunt, her despair became the end of her. We'll see more of Father's story and the dead wife later.

But an interesting note, the wife's thoughts on the relationship between kin and vampire is similar to Gunchan's theory. That's probably why Father had a knee jerk reaction and reacted violently enough to choke on Gunchan in the hospital.
