This chapter is so relevant! It's so hard to stay motivated after being rejected and ignored but you just have to otherwise you have no chance! And dont get me started on when youre surrounded by peers and relatives that are obviously. Going places. I dont get jealous. But it makes me feel like shit!!

You wanna be forgiven for not finding a job because you're a woman? (and I have no idea where you got that from) then I hope you don't mind getting paid less, have to work twice as hard to get higher rank(and even then you may not get it), have everything you do criticized and hearing it was a mistake expecting anything from you afterwards... and another long list of stuff you can't know about unless you're a woman.
So before saying the grass is greener over there, take care of your own garden and all that. You didn't take roll call for me or whatever, so unlike the guys in this story, I really don't feel like letting that kinda thing go and call it even.
I can see where you're coming from. In America if your a women or male it's equally hard to find a good job. But if you decided to leave work for a while(being a women) managers and the like will be more understanding depending on what happend for you to leave work for so long. While men would get looked down on if the person he was getting interviewed by was a male also. Me saying this isn't sexist, it's more like stating the facts of the matter. Where I live it's a lot better than it was 40 years ago, so just imagine in 20 years.

They only stay with one partner -which is their mate- for their entire life. Kinda like marriage but without divorce

I was just as confused. My thought was, "Does it mean they *bond* for life?" because the timing to say "mate" was a little awkward XD
I thought they meant that they have sex for life or something hahaha
