Ok how about i say it like this. Blondie has given no reason that she shouldn’t be trusted or that her premonition are false, she herself believes in her premonitions and just want to save her frien from someone she thinks is a psycho. Nocton from the very absolute start was acting shitty and duroa has been given a valid reason from a thrustworthy person in her life that he can’t be truested and is dangerous.
Now imagine that you are duroa. You as a reader knows what noctons evil mom was trying to do, that nocton isn’t actually bad, and that he may not have killed knight and blondie if duroa had gone to the party. But from duroa’s perspective, there is no way to gain that knowledge. From her perspective, her actual experiences with him, the only dots she has received lines up with what blondie is saying.
She can’t possibly know what nocton is actually like when he is acting how he is. No one can and it’s not about being smart enough.
And yes you are blaming her by saying that she’s too stupid to “connect the dots” when she hasn’t even been giving any. We as the readers know but you can’t apply our knowledge to what she should do.
It makes complete sense for her to not trust nocton and believe that he is just scheming. because so many experiences with him line up with that belief, regardless of wether it’s true or not. Again, it doesn’t make sense for us who knows what’s going on, but it does for someone in her situation. And anyone who use their brain would at the very least be extremely wary of him
You are blaming her by saying that the situation would be better if she could think for herself. But i keep on telling you that she has reason to believe that all the good things nocton did (that you listed) be lies. She has also expressed thoughts about the possibility that he is sincere. But in that situation, it would make more sense to be wary of him and on guard instead of believing him and just hoping that he isn’t trying to brainwash you.
