The way Leon says "don't put on airs when your just a pregman" about Ikumi. It made me think that he actually hates himself and that he basically feel like he's worthless. He's never been treated with respect and I don't think he's ever been loved.. I'm not making excuses for his awful behavior but I'm only saying that maybe I understand him a little better...
