I strongly believe your 2nd Theory.
The parents of Jung Yeon (seme) forced him to become some sort of sacrifice to the mirror (demon?) or be apart of a ritual. Tae Joon (uke) tries to interfere but is also locked in the room with Jung (extra food for demon?). Something happens in the room where they learn the 'truth' and ultimately both end up with some sort of power and they kill Jung's parents (as revenge?).
I also have a theory that Jung Yeon's parents may also have had this power, bc they often visited the Black room, which was why the room smelled of smoke. Therefore they where either trying to encourage Jung Yeon to follow in their footsteps, to be like them and get this power (which is why they forced him to watch horror movies), or use him as a sacrifice/fuel to get the power for themselves.

It was like a "goddess of the world" and she asked Rae for help and Rae agreed to help. She was supposed to b the MC Béatrice. But when the real Rae knew she was gonna die (the witch told her) she decided to change her body with that of Béatrice, who was supposed to have like a good futur of marrying the duke. But Rae unknowingly changed her fate again by going to him.
And he actually fell for her ( like it's supposed to b I mean she's the real MC).
And now both of Béatrice and Rae aren't stable in their bodies. Cause it's not theirs. (that's why they pass out a lot.)

At first i think it was like that but after seeing our Rae living happily with the duke she probably got jealous and wanted her life back. Her loving family and body etc. I couldn’t blame her for that but killing someone innocent? I can’t justify that
I mean she did kill her friend "the real Béatrice" just so she won't die. And also killed the witch who did the switch. Also she will kill Viviane. She also is trying to kill Rae. Doesn't look like a nice gal u know hhhhh ╮(￣▽￣)╭
it wasn't an attempt to excuse her actions if that's what it came off like, murder is never justifiable. its just nice she isn't written to be just the "antagonistic bitch for no reason" trope you often see in this genre, very little agency outside of just being a villain. Beatrice is unapologetic with regards to killing others if its to save her own life, I find that refreshing in a way that her motivations are more pragmatic and self preservative then just "that bitch is stealing my mans attentions, how dare she!!!"
Yes. I agree 100% with what u just said. Do u have any idea how many Mangas and webtoons I dropped because the villain was sooooo flat. Like no character at all aside from the part where she wants to marry or getthe ML for either his looks or his money. I think it's what gave this story a good edge. I mean u do kinda get it. She wants to live and to get her family back. With the way she is, Who can blame her?
This was surprisingly very entertaining. I loved it. Am curious to see what the author will do next to not make it a cliché
