it's definitely worth it. his character growth is realistic in a sense that he did not immediately took a 180 turn from being a jerk to an angel.

Ml's whole body is poison. So when they clasped hands for the contract, ml's blood got into mc. Mc's poison skill took a bit too long to fully cleanse the poison and ml panicked because he already has an idea that mc could be J and they have history so ml didn't want mc to die.

Which is why later on ml is so cautious around mc with poison but mc proves he's fine with poison which leads to their first kiss lol

It didn't was explained, but the second liquid that ml feed mc, was a VERY rare potion that cure basically everything.
ML prepared as many antidote to ensure MC's safety. Its just, MC's poison immunity does not act immedieatly for the sake of drama. The 2nd bottle is far better than the 1st one, but its technically wasted because MC could recover even without it.
It was the first time the skill was active so he have zero resistance for this poison, that's why it didn't act immediately and for the drama too haha, I secretly believe the system wants the drama

Tbh I think the Author handles the amnesia arc pretty well. It’s not cliche development like others. MC is calm and careful, but is still him. ML is restraining himself but also oozing out love!
