Alves was like yeah def not going to your house that is too much of a temptation. and then left the dress so basically she would have to think about him whenever she sees it or she'll keep trying to return it. i think alves is waiting for Nunally to just fall for him on her own and if she doesn't he's not gonna push it because it's already hard enough in society's eyes for them to be together but it's clear his dad approves of her and probably doesn't mind them getting married.
