so basically in her past life the crown prince is powerless politically,
He's just the "Crown Prince" since the emperor is still alive.
when the MC got pregnant he wished for it to be a "girl" so it doesn't get in the way of the duke (MCs fake father) "plan" the duke doesn't support the crown prince and sees him as an "enemy" and at that time the duke has more power than the Crown Prince,
so basically the duke can kill the MC anytime if she gets in the way
so fast forward when the mc gave birth:
it was a boy the crown prince was happy (but having a boy means that they're "kinda getting in the way of the dukes "plan" and the crown prince knows that the duke will kill the mc and the baby boy so he treated them badly so the duke wont see them as an obstacle but either way the mc was killed so is the baby and the crown prince got really mad and killed the real daughter of the duke

To deal with the fake father, to bear the burden of being an empress, the pregnancy AND all this while believing her husband hated her...
Using the "he actually loved her but was trying to protect her" card is lame... a very lame excuse.
I'd rather he ended up with the first empress the same as the past and the MC finding someone better to marry. Best outcome would be she getting her revenge on them, inheriting his title and becoming the Duchess.
A lot of people want them to be together because of the baby... and I really hate this. No amount of love in this life would erase all her trauma from the previous one. And using the child to justify staying in a bad relationship is quite common irl and never ends well for the woman. To me it sounds like people who says "think of the baby (or kids)" whenever a woman wants a divorce and it honestly disgustes me.
