Boy, I don't have to be nice to someone who can't bother to be nice to people who ACTUALLY work hard to give us good stuff. And 'not knowing it's a theft' you said? This person removed the credit page and watermark. Someone with good intentions won't bother removing shits if all they want is to share. They know what they're doing is wrong, and now they're being called out on it. They bring it to themselves.

When I was 12 years old, I didn't know what the watermark were for. I didn't even know scanlations were illegal. If she was knowingly stealing, maybe she was thinking "well ppl steal official translation anyway, what's wrong with me stealing raws?"

It's easy to assume the worst of people behind a screen. But wrong assumptions have dire consequences. What if she became depressed over this?

Call her out. Tell her she is wrong. Make her apologize. But saying 'fuck you you selfish person" isn't going to help with anything.

If this person isn't old enough to understand what watermark is for, they won't remove it. Also won't remove the credit page. Beside, this is the second time they stole QvFamma translation so I don't know why people keep saying this person have honest intention.

What do you mean watermark making it hard to read? Watermark is not placed in text area, so it won't affect the reading whatsoever. Beside, the credit page is a page on its own. No reason not to include it. If this person is covering the fact that they're stealing, then they know that they're stealing. And if they're not old enough to know stealing is wrong, they're not old enough to touch 18+ manga either.

The first offense already had huge outburst of both readers and official translator asking them to stop. But they did it again. So I don't know what to tell you.

You say she's too young to be aware of her wrong doings??? But ironically you seem to consider her old enough to be reading and translating this kind of manga which content is rated "mature content" (R-18 in my country). This is really laughable.

Can we not pretend like kids don't bypass age restriction warnings to read smutty manga? 15 years olds watch porn all the time. idk her exact age but if she was in middle school, I wouldn't be surprised if she pulled stunts like this.

Fair. Circumstantial evidence points out that she meant to steal the raws. That doesn't negate my point that there is a chance she's too young to understand her action is wrong. We are reading on a site that rips off official translation after all. It's not like we can claim the moral high ground. What if she was thinking "well people steal official translations anyway. Why can't I steal raws?"

I am willing to give her benefit of the doubt that she did have good intention. She has no reason to do this if she doesn't actually want other readers to be able to enjoy one of her fav mangas. She doesn't put out her instagram, which means she isn't doing it for fame or clout.

I don't like the fact that many seem to criticize her only because Hero Scans dropped this project, and not because what she is doing is wrong on first principle.

On the other hand, what manga did she rip off the first time? If she had done this and had been called out before, I am inclined to rescind my statement that she didn't know what she was doing was wrong. However, it remains that insulters probably didn't know about this precedent. They are simply jumping on the bandwagon and being unnecessarily mean.

It this very same manga, my friend. This person sniped the last chapter before they sniped it again. I was here during the incident last month that's why I know.

Anyway, scanlation groups don't 'rip off official translation' whatsoever. They bought original volumes, which are in Japanese, then they did the whole cleaning, redraw, translate to English, and typeset it. Once English version of said manga is out, scanlation groups will drop it so people can just buy the book and support the artist directly.

I don't know why you keep wanting to give this person benefit of the doubt. On the credit page QvFamma clearly said they don't want their Spanish scanlations to be re-translated. This person can translate the whole chapter, so they should understand perfectly what this one page mean. They know QvFamma doesn't want the re-translation, yet they did it anyway. Even went so far as removing said credit page and watermark. To me it's clear as day that this person just doesn't care that they're doing bad things. This person is bad and I will treat them like a bad person.
