After reading it again, I think he means Chris got killed because of his evil deeds (maybe by his own team?), but since he is involved in bribery this early on, he should be killed earlier than the original. But Cheongdo is uncertain if Chris did bribe ppl in the original, and if he did, it somehow works out that he survives despite his lack of ability rn? If he didn't, maybe Chris will be targeted instead of Karos this time around, but still survive.
