I really tried to understand Winter's behavior back then, but seeing how he is right now.. dude. NO! You may not be completely at fault for being the one who was kept in the dark since the prince and the in laws were conspiracing, but Winter was still neglectful for plenty of years. Plus, he was always doubtful of his wife's loyalty to him before and after her found out about the land. Adding more to that, at chap 37, he confronted carlson but still continued doubting Violet's faithfulness by asking if there really was no affiar going on. I mean-- just how-- And those issues are just at the tip of the iceberg. But the most important of it all is that he is now aware, and he has experienced how frail violet's body is, but still lacked enough care to monitor her condition. How could he just send a doctor to visit her regularly! Plus there should've been a doctor who was monitoring her ever since he found out she was pregnant!(though she probably aint) How could he let Violet end up looking like a dishreveled person who has not had rest for plenty of years of abuse(though it is also true, but she was finally well for a few days or weeks ╥﹏╥)
