And I seriously don’t understand why authors who write stories like this write out the children to want the favor and love of their father when in reality they would probably despise their father. I mean speaking realistically most of his children would’ve hated him to death, I mean if my dad put me on the front lines and made it so I could die at any moment because another sibling wants to take the place of my father, I would go insane. Like how the fuck are any of his children mentally stable ??

He should’ve broke the tradition, somebody in the tradition will have to break the tradition someday. If he had the resolve to interfere with the competition by protecting the mc, he could have the resolve to protect all the children. He could have had the resolve to NOT let this tragic tradition to continue after he got the throne. In reality, he didn’t give a shit about his children and highly doubt his brothers otherwise he would end this tradition. Until the mc came into his life~*rolls eyes*.
Now watch the author give him his tragic backstory later to make him unDeRStAnDAbLE. I just KNOW this line will be in his tragic story “I don’t bother trying to get to know my children and remember them to avoid getting hurt when they die.
