Its missing this gritty feeling of power struggling tension and angst. The art is too light for an action story it makes you want to paint it black. For someone who said to had stood on top of murim, he's too out of character. Mc looks like someone who became a peaceful hermit from Buddhism instead.
It is honestly really jarring, and so widespread too! My personal theory is that a lot of the manhuas are adapted from novels, so maybe the artists are banking on the audience having read them?? Even so, I dislike it, it makes for a jumpy and disjointed reading experience
