its very confusing but as a child Elzay saw a vision of the ML dying and told her father she wanted to save him which lead to him and his men burning the house down but if her father hadn’t intervened then he would have been killed by the assassins sent by the king to kill his mother. thanks to Elzay telling her father that he was gonna die they got to his house in time to talk to the dying mother who knew what was going on and why they were after her so she told the duke to burn the house and that is when the ML shows up and sees the burning house and the duke leaving

I think I know why Yunifer is keeping her distance from Rael & doesn'twant to befriend her. No Matter how you look at it Rael's connection to the prince is still Yunfier's ending. If you think about it the prince keeps following Rael & if he starts to feel that Yunifer is taking her away from him it seems like he'll kill her to get her out of his way. I believe if the prince had nothing to do with Rael Yunifer & Real would probably be on good terms.
Also when I think about this attachment that Rael longs for Yunifer to be her friend has something to do with the original storyline. But she did see how nice Yunifer really was. Rael believed they would be good friends. For someone not knowing why you dislike them & did nothing to hurt you you'd want to know the reason why.
