I think it's both the parents, I don't think they ever truly addressed what led to Hyesung not wanting Byul in the beginning and what brought him back and made him realize his love for his son. They've all made mistakes and he's a teen so it's only fair he let his frustration out after seeing how much his parents show unconditional love for his new sibling and also his own lack of success. He's the failure, the mistake but he knows that not true as well... I'm sure they'll all talk they seem like the family to do so.
