My guess: FL was pregnant in the past, that's why she was assassinated (they didn't want her to bear the devils child) and that's why she can also rememeber the past, because his child is a part from him and kind of "blocked" her to forget. The explanation with him having slept with her and that's why she was influenced didn't really convince me. And the rumor with her being pregnant now is just going to lead to the same thing. Basically, they don't want a descendant from him, so they kill het.
