He rescues her and confesses his love to her but she rejects him because she doesnt believe him and shes scared of getting hurt again. They go back to the dukes estate where she asks when she can go home and he replies that they have to figure out where the wagon the bandits stole went along with all her luggage. This was just lies since he wanted to keep her around longer as they have more wagons and half her stuff was going to be sent later so theyre still at the dukes place. He tried to meet her multiple times but she rejects seeing him. Eventually while shes at the garden they confront each other where she rejects him again. Eventually they go get the stuff back from the bandits and she gives him back the engagement ring for good. She tells him during all this she cant trust his feelings and he might change his mind later which she couldnt handle if he did. She also points out he knows nothing about her so once he learns more what if his feelings change then since his feelings changed before when he use to hate her at first. He decides the best way to convince her is to follow an old tradition to get a big kill on the mountain while its a snow storm and bring it back to prove his love. She realizes while hes gone that she does love him and is scared he will die in the storm. He comes back with a snow flower for her and they confess and get married a few days later.
