Just rereading the story for the nth time and noticed all the clues to the different mugos converging - jerk mugo started acting like sir mugo with his kindness and care and monster mugo started acting like jerk mugo with the horniness. And of course, them being able to remember things that happened while they're not in control. Also, now that we know what the little gummies actually are, it doesn't seem like sir mugo was suspicious, but just wanted to keep our jaheon away from the "cursed" creatures for his own good/protection.
