Sovieshu would deeply regret losing Navier. It was never his intention. He just wanted to have a biological child and he’s convinced that Navier was infertile ‘cause when they were little he found out that Navier had to fast like him to mantain a fit body blah blah. He was enraged and demanded that she should be fed but no one listened to him so he snuck some cookies from his monther’s room to feed her. He didn’t know her mother prepared those cookies for the favored concubide. It was laced with a medicine that can induce abortion and infertility. When he found out about the medicine he lied and told his mother he ate it alone. He really loved Navier ever since they were kids and was always tortured that Navier didn’t see him as a lover but only as a colleague. He was bitter that Navier never really looked at him properly. He protected Rashta cause he truly believed she was weak and pitiful. I honestly think he was never in love with her. It’s always been Navier. He did a lot of things behind her back to try and protect her but his actions are always too misleading, He admitted he made a miscalculation and pretty much begged Navier to come back to him. Even after getting rejected he still loved her. He told her that when she thinks about their past she should remember his confession instead of all the wounds that might hurt her. If you’ve seen the cover of the novel, shu bought a version of that painting. Navi sitting and staring at something outside the frame and shu on her lap staring up at her. He was so heartbroken that Navi wasn’t even looking at him on the painting so he ordered the royal painter to alter it and make it seem like Navi is looking at him. Then he hung it on his bedroom to.. i guess torture himself? ;-;

Navier married Hienley out of need. She claimed they were using each other although Hienley truly loved her, Navier couldn’t return his feelings until much later. She realized after the divorce that she actually liked Sovieshu but at that point she was already loyal to Hienley despite seeing him only as a friend. Aaah but when she started to really like him it was so worth it. One of my favorite moments is when they finally got rid of Crista(queen of hienley’s brother) who was in love with Hienley. After the whole crista trouble, Navier kissed hienley and said something like “mine”. It was pretty out of character. Gee i hope it’s accurate cause i was using google translate and it’s not very accurate. Anyway Navier pretty much thrived in the western kingdom. The popular socialite duchess, arrived in the western kingdom to assist her in joining the society. Her lover who stabbed rashta who was by then a member of some powerful knight order offered their services to be Navier’s guards. Koshar was also extremely in the western kingdom. When he was exiled from the eastern kingdom, Hienley immediately ordered someone to escort his “brother in law” to his own kingdom. This was before he even got married to Navier. XD Since Hienley is head over heels for Navier, Koshar saw him as someone with good taste.

Hienley initially went to the eastern kingdom to spy. He has been planning to wage war. He’s also the reason why wizards have been decreasing. He’s pretty much stealing their mana. But when he feel in love with Navier he decided to stop his plans. I think a few people were not happy about it. He was really afraid that Navier would find out. When she did though, she was more relieved than mad. Well it is touching that Hienley abandoned his plans for her. Oh on their wedding day Hienley announced that they the western kingdom would be the western empire. It was a lot of work but he wanted Navier to be the first empress instead of being just a queen. Their married life is freakin sweet. On their first night he admitted to Navier that he was a virgin and asked her to lead XD ah but he was a fast learner. Hm.. i guess it was also revealed that the playboy image was so he would be underestimated by his enemies. At one point i truly believed he was way more manipulative than Sovieshu and Rashta combined. But unlike rashta his intentions are actually for the good of the people.


Archduke Kafman- what can i say, his story is equal parts adorable and tragic. He fell in love with Navier even before he drank the potion. He spent months trying to find a solution but was not successful. Later, Navier called him to the western kingdom to continue the trade agreement that fell thru with the eastern kingdom cause of jealous Shu. He was still very much in love with Navier and made the silly mistake of trying to use the love potion on Heinley and Crista. He immediately regretted it cause it could have hurt Navier. Navier used the incident as a leverage when negotiating the trade deal. He also revealed to Navier that he can read people’s minds which was very useful to Navier.


Rashta- rashta is unhinged. She’s paranoid and delusional. She did go thru some traumatic experiences like being sold as a slave because of his father’s crime. Falling in love with the viscount’s son just to be told he can’t leave his life of luxury for her, being locked up by the viscount during her pregnancy and the last straw was when she was made to believe that her first child is dead. She was so traumatized by it that when she help the princess, her second child. She threw it on the floor when the baby stopped crying, thinking it was also dead. Nevertheless it is so difficult to feel pity for her. She pretty much hated her first child when she thought his existence might drag her down. She was outraged when she found out that Navier was happy with Hienley in the western kingdom and wanted nothing more than to ruin her newfound happiness. She hired mercenaries to try and kill Navier’s parents, she used the money Navier left for the charities and donated it in her name. She framed a loyal maid and had her tongue cut off. She freakin had a loyal friend killed just to check if the mercenary’s skill is good enough...

Elgy- he’s a mystery to me. All i know is that he wants a freakin port. Give him his port Rashta. XD

Hienley also has the knowledge to pretty much turn normal people into wizards. Navi’s power manifested as ice and she started worrying if she’s a cold person. It was really funny. She’s pregnant now. Shu is doubting if the baby is biologically his so they’re going to get a paternity test after Hienley’s birthay. Ah Navi is worried about what to give Hienley for his birthday. When they got married, Hienley often personally cooked breakfast for Navi and delivered it to her in bed. She wanted to bake a cake for him as their mom did for them but she found out her mom never made the cakes. She just asked the chef to make one and pretended she did it. Her personality is kinda similar to Navi. When they all finally found out Navi is pregnant she worried her baby might be similar to hot-headed koshar or to Navi’s dad who is so emotional. XD i’m glad Hienley found out about Rashta’s plan and saved the day before his mother and father-in/law got killed. They’re also pretty funny.

Well, he is messed up. But, he reaps what he sow. I know he was afraid to tell Navi the truth or even confront the wrong he did, since we're human, we dont like facing our weak self, but still ya know. Its just... Well, that... Can't really put it into words cause I dont know how to put it in words. But... yeah, ya know.

Yeah. The problem with Navi and Shu’s relationship is that their pride gets in the way of any honest conversation they can ever hope to have. This problem is non existent in Navi and Hienley’s relationship because Hienley wasn’t really raised to be the heir to the throne. In fact he tried his best to blend in the shadows so his brother would appear better in every way just to avoid other nobles from using him for their political agenda. I feel like Shu got way worse than he deserved. His nature is kind but he was nurtured to be a very prideful emperor. He was desperate for the warmth and love of a family but asking for it would wound his ego, it would go against who he was raised up to be. I can somewhat understand how that disconnect between who you are and who you were taught you should be can drive you into a corner. He was late but he realized his mistakes. He stationed soldiers to secretly watch Rashta to protect the people around her and after she gave birth he quietly moved to expose her wrongdoings. I really wish he’d have his own happy ending.

He thought that the kid was his. So to make it his legitimate kid, and not illegitimate, he had to make Trash the queen. Something along that line.

In conclusion, he wanted to make the child legitimate and so he made the mother his empress. Did he thought of making Navier his concubine, then? Why humiliate his beloved in front of society and dishonor her as such!?

Nah, from what I got from the novel and spoil alert, he was only planning to let Trash be Queen for a year and then remarried Navi after that. He did not think of Navi's feeling and only carried about the bloodline at the time, which pissed me off.

But he did it to protect the child. Illegitimate children cannot be part of the royal family and were usually treated harshly, with no chance of being an heir. He had plans to reinstate Navi as the empress after a year, hoping she would understand that he had no other choice. He wanted her to raise the child with him. Navi didn’t want that though. He miscalculated so badly. It was actually kinda tragic for rashta too but her greed and lack of guilt is heavier than her sob story.

Oh, I see...

If only he had not let his misunderstandings prolonged then he might have avoided that dilemma. If only...

In the novel, did he ever mention why he kept Rashta's background or their first meeting a secret from Navire?

In a way the Emperor and That woman deserve each other. How selfish!

Shu was honestly protective of Rashta because he saw her as a poor naive girl who was never given the chance to be happy. He later found out how manipulative she is and tried to correct his mistakes. He went to Navi and explained everything but Navi told her she never would have agreed because she doesn’t want to raise rashta’s baby. He also exposed Rashta’s crimes by feeding information to a commoner reporter. However he still tries to suppress any information that could jeopardize the baby’s future, that includes rashta’s true origin.

I'm beginning to understand but it's not like Navire would ever harm Rishta. She even said it before how she wanted the truth. She's so nice and if only instead of giving his Empress her place would be killing 2 birds with 1 stone.

Shu wasn’t worried about Navi, he was worried about the other nobles. When Shu found out that Navi was pregnant he was mortified and wondered what all his sacrifices were for. He’s afraid he might not even be the father of the baby he so badly wanted to protect that he divorced the love of his life.

Haha don’t forget he also abandoned his plans to wage war to conquer the eastern empire for love. He’s funny, smart, loyal, brings his wife breakfast in bed, protective and freakin cute when he’s jealous, quite insatiable too. I remember that chapter where Navi’s Lady-in-waiting was somewhat frustrated that Navi couldn’t wear most of the summer dresses because she had hickies that had to be covered up XD. I’m kinda glad Shu is the way he is because Navi and Hienley had to happen. I just really hope Shu gets his own happy ending.

Ah well I can’t entirely blame rashta either. I mean i’ve muttered “stupid stupid idiot rashta” so many times while reading the novel but... Is it a crime to be stupid? Yes it is. Damn it. I’m trying to be understanding because she’s also a victim. Sold as a slave, abused by her master, used by the emperor to get a baby, pretty much treated as a laughing stock, the friend she thinks she can trust just wants a port, life has been hard on her too but damn i just can’t feel any pity for her and i swear i’m trying. It feels unethical to hate a crazy person for acting crazy because she probably can’t help it but gaah it’s so hard not to hate her. T^T

i know what you mean.. i usually rationalize with myself that no you shouldnt judge or hate someone just because they do those shits because they probably have their own reasons but there is really just something about this girl that i cant help but hate. maybe because i hate two faced people like her who's a wolf in a sheep's clothing that bully our mc (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
