From what I'm reading, the OG Lyla lost her only pillar of support, her mother. After her mother died, she was left alone at a young age, hearing everyone berate her, telling her that it's her fault her mother died, constantly getting target by the empress, and her father didn't even give a hoot about her even after saying he loves OG Sienna's Mother.
At such a young age, she couldn't take it anymore and took off the bracelet so she could just end it all. She probably didn't even know that her mother casted a spell on her and just wanted to die so that everything can just end for her. Her friend <green hair dragon> came too late to save her. Helena who is nelegacted and abused by the empress can't do anything to help beside visiting at night due to the grip the empress had on her.
So... I believe OG Lyla is dead. And that's just horrible and sad. ╥﹏╥
The female who was catch by the spell was dragged into OG Lyla's body to keep it alive??? I think???
So she's just the innocent victim in all of this beside the OG Lyla.

Can I just say that I feel bad for Courtney? Like, she is slowly falling into BDSM. THE STRUGGLE IS REAL! And the ML is fueling it in more. I really feel for Courtney. She's stressed out about everything and during those time period, it's fucking hard for a woman to be independent and taking care of a house hold that's always undermining them and doesn't care. And now, she is having an engagement crisis as well as an identity crisis.
Like, we as reader knows secretly, she likes it but at the same time, she is in denial because this is all very new to her.

Courtney is very strong, isn't she? Honestly, whenever I finish a chapter, I always remember the scene when she was slapped and none of her family, except for her nephew, tried to help her. Everyone was scared, thinking that their home will be taken away, and she was too yet, she was the only one who fought for it because of her nephew who deserves a better family that this. I was half expecting for her family to thank her for what she has done, but none of them, except for her nephew by trying to give her some more soup, thanked her, especially her good-for-nothing "brother."
I know. She is a very strong woman. Just super worry that she's too strong cause even a strong woman has a breaking point. I hope the ML loves her not just for his kinks and fetish desire but for who she is as well.
And, that scene when the nephew was the only one on her side was such a sweet and sad scene. ╥﹏╥
And I too hope he will love her, and she as well, for who they are. I hope she learns to care for herself, and I hope Richard, learns as well.

In traditional myths there sometimes are forces that intentionally misleading to have things play in certain God's hands (that's what we see in some parts of this story) but we also see these characters (Mikhail) being dumb af and not communicating.
