Oh jesus christ, that's terrible news. I don't even read this story and was about to pick it up but it sucks to know that the story is dropped due to the writer's current condition:(( i hope their recovery goes well and if a new writer isn't found, hopefully, the current writer can return to writing when they are FULLY recovered.
Unfortunately, i'd rather not pick this up due to the hiatus, cliffhangers will kill me.

Mangago deleted my comment so i'll say it again, i'm so glad i'm not the only novel reader upset about the drastic changes of the plot. I checked the reviews for the manwha in n*wt*ki and they all pretty much mention how there's too many differences.

In the novel, there's 1 whole volume i like to call the introduction/monkey village arc. MC and a bunch of players spent 2 weeks or so on that village trying to survive. That whole volume introduced basic game mechanics of what an early stage kingdom looked like, how it functions, the purpose of the tower(why it was also important). It also showed MC's leadership capabilities, the side characters personality qnd even backstory(like the kid's bg story, skills and such then glasses guy's reason for not going back to his own kingdom and he and MC talking a lot about their dukes. His story was resolved WAY before MC returned to his own kingdom). There were also 2 characters that got wiped from the story, 1 was another player chracter that was being ostracized by the other faction in the monkey village. MC spent a while to build confidence and even recruits him to be an apprentice of one of his vassals who is the blacksmith character(the one he asks if took a bath yet) the 2nd one was a Vassal of MC. So you know how the blue haired vassal helped MC raid the treasury and got sent to the prison for it yeah? Well, that happened WAY earlier in the story, before MC even returned to his kingdom because he needed a lot of potions and he even took the race changing potion too. A different vassal who was described as very quiet, when he does speak, only just a few words, red head and very imposing/intimidating was said to have helped MC. He's basically gone from the manwha and his role in the story got pushed onto another vassal cus the order of the plot got fucked.
A review i saw says that ending of chapter 1 of the manwha doesn't even touch the ending of volume 1 of the novel. I pretty much agree. Cus when i first read the novel, i already read 20+ chapter and i had yet to see the last scene from chapter 1(the one where they're stuck under house arrest)

oh what, that sucks... I like the manhwa now but that sounds much more interesting and builds upon the characters more. From that perspective, it feels like the adaptation doesnt know what to do eith the side characters right now because they entirely skipped their stories and importance to the story

Yeah,,, the glasses guy isn't even supposed to join them sheltering in MC's kingdom cus he's already found a way to get along with his duke with MC's help. Honestly, manwha makes MC look super incompetent and helpless when he isn't like that in the novel, which is frustrating when i see manwha readers dislike him for his inaction(though understandable). I also forgot to mention in my first reply that ML was treated dirty too cus he doesn't sexually assault/rape MC in the novel. The most was wing touching(though it was super obvious to readers the act was sexually stimulating the MC) and they only advanced to more sexual things when they atleast got around to resolving their misunderstanding(MC was still unsure what his feelings are for the duke tho). Like for sure, ML does confine MC and is emotionaly stunted but i wholy blame the source of the misunderstanding for ruining their relationship(before MC quit the game)

Em...idk how to feel about it? He was a normal person before he died(with a family who loved and took care of him and hospital staff that treated him kindly) but turned into an ultra edgelord after being "reincarnated" just because.....lost memories?? Aka, casual destruction of anything and everything. His humanity basically disappeared and has no qualms in killing whoever tries to "kill" him. Like, i understood why he killed those first 3 humans cus they did attack him out of nowhere but he felt no guilty conscience after. It's like watching someone kill bugs and wiping off the carcass on tissue and throwing it away in the garbage but not understanding why their colony go after them. It's that lack of critical thinking of the consequences. He figured out that the teachers would go after him for it but he still thinks that he was the one who was wronged. He just doesn't think killing people is all that, it's like sleeping for him.
With the cemetary part though, where those soldiers were sent to find out what was happening, MC went straight to killing just so he could test his new found techiniques just cus they were there to confront them...cus he assumed they were there to kill him. Just assumption.
The oracle was right, a disaster is headed for them.

True this is not worth anyones time.
The first three were kids all you had to do was incapacitate them then you're good to go. But no he had to kill them.
And now with the girl. Theyre making him have some sort of moral compass when he never had any. Haaay the plot is muddy and bad. If they want edgelord supreme to be all avout gloom and doom. They should have never added that stupid beyotch to the story.
Ayo blub, he's bleeding.
