Yeah at first I had the same reaction (I'm into the explicit bl hehe ops) but the more I went ahead reading and the more I got captivated by the story. It's so cute and talks about some really actual problems, like the difficulty in expressing our feelings, the fear of trusting people etc.
Personally I liked a lot also the non-toxicity/possessivity of Eugene (Niel's ex best friend) because in EVERY story that I've read so far there has always been the jealous-and-overpossessive ex and it pissed me off that in every bl there were the saaaame kind of antagonist with the saaaaame reasons to act like that, being an asshole in order to make the uke be-his-forever-and-ever-UGH. It's kinda original.
I also really loved that Jensen started asking himself about his sexuality and even did an Internet research (lmao that's something that everyone has done at least once and it felt so realistic).
Last but not least, since I'm here blabbing about my personal opinion with no reason at all, I really liked Elle's character and the maturity of Renna at the end >ω<

Anyway, if u read all of this until now tysm lol I don't even know why did I write this huge paragraph, I guess I got carried away lmao sorry
