No matter how handsome and seme-ish the guy is, I'd rather him be with the sensitive, self-sacrificial Kenta. They are cute together anyway.

hahah. that is also my intent. it's a nice shorty with good enough drama and there's not enough non-stereotypical couples in BL world and I put hope on people learning to appreciate them more than the uke getting paired with the the handsome, tempting yet a douche seme. I strongly feel for kenta because it's unfair to him to be discarded by readers when he's the most deserving person here.

I'll admit I wasn't too sure about this story at first, but I am so very glad I stuck with it.
This mangaka's work also gets some lower ratings because it's not technically yaoi; it's really just shounen ai.
I'm not saying that's a bad thing; I personally love her stories and her artwork. Problem is people who read yaoi expecting explicit sexual content and this author just doesn't do that, at least not in any stories so far.
yeah, and i think part of it is people got initially turned off the cover? and so they pass over reading this. that's why i'll never get tired of telling people to just read on and not just judge (or smth) a manga based on it's rating.
and i don't understand why peg down a star because they expected smut? kinda unfair for the manga that has a really good story you can actually sympathize with. ╮(￣▽￣)╭

Looking at things in reverse, I think a lot of shounen ai fans might enjoy this, but will probably pass it over because the tag specifically says yaoi.
I think it all comes down to what readers love and hate.
For me a good story is most important, but I won't read anything with a shota or loli tag no matter how highly rated.
If you haven't read this author's other manga, buy a copy of you need to because it's really good. It's also not as dark as this one; it's actually really funny.
