Does anyone know where the raws are?

Lifeisharf April 3, 2020 4:40 pm

Omg they are finally together. Hallelujah

Does anyone know where the raws are? Or the novel?

Lifeisharf November 11, 2019 7:36 am

Ok, look I’m sorry but I honestly have to say it. I’m getting annoyed but Maine. Like really annoyed. I understand that she really loves and enjoys books. But that’s causing her to kinda hurt those around her. Like she was actually gonna cut ties with her family for books, and she made Lutz cry. Actually she didn’t make him cry but it’s kinda like the way she decided to move on and go deeper into books and such.

But I’m kinda at the point where I feel like I’m about to drop this manga.

    Lifeisharf November 11, 2019 7:38 am

    Sorry to add on but...
She’s really into books and it’s kinda at the point where she’s like obsessed with them. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

    Yuki Moon November 11, 2019 7:58 am

Oh yeah, Mayne can be very annoying because of how stupidly clueless and selfishly naive she can get, and this situation was definitely her fault. But, she didn't know what it would've meant to become a priestess.

In other worlds that are similar to our own, the church is one of the three most powerful groups in a kingdom/nation. For instance, the Pope is considered a powerful and respectable figure. Mayne must have simply thought that the church would've been okay to work in.

Though, because of her stupidity and childish naive, she blabbed about having the consuming and even touched the darn goblet!!!! Thus, creating the situation she's in now.

Sorry for the long reply. Oh, and btw. We find out from the beginning that she's obsessed with books, mean, it's pretty much a known fact.

I agree, she is getting really annoying. I mean, I get where she’s coming from, being a bookworm myself. And I get that she didn’t know about what it meant to join the church. BUT COME ON! Everyone, or almost everyone, is bending over backwards to try and get her damn books, and she’s just throwing that in their face because all she really cares about are books; not the people in her life. Sure she was questioning the possibility of there being something greater than books, but in my opinion, there is no question; relationships are more important! Otherwise you end up all alone

Did she know that she had to cut ties with her family?
I thought she said she was quitting the idea because her family mattered to her as much as the books did. Also, she hasn't really decided to do it or not, but I don't think it's necessarily just because of the books this time; the reason is for her survival. She needs that tool to basically stay alive.

I’m not just talking about her family, I’m also talking about Lutz. He has done a lot to help her, more than anyone really, and she’s walking all over him. Also she’s been there longer than a year if I remember right, so she’s had lots of time to build a relationship with the people in her life. I understand not wanting to die and all, but still... the whole thing just rubs me the wrong way.

That's the thing, Mayne never tried asking. She never tried researching the consuming or anything like that. She just learned stuff on the way. Also, even though Benno and the other consuming girl told her that there's a chance that she can become a slave to the nobles if they found out, she still disregarded their warnings and blabbed about it anyways. Mayne is too naive and doesn't think about anything but books, the reason why she could never make a logical decision. Also, Maybe mostly just goes with the flow, which is also messing her up.

If you were in Mayne's situation, where you were reborn into a sickly body that had to rely on MAGIC tools to survive, what would you have done? I would've done as much research as possible to figure out what exactly is the consuming and then start making counter attacks.

Also, on the topic of the consuming, it seems like she basically just needs an outlet. It's like an over heated battery, or when there's too much energy in one place with nowhere to go.

Isn't that more than enough information? The fact that they kept hiding things, the fact that they all felt suspicious from the get go. You learn from just that that the consuming is more than a simple illness that'll slowly kill it's vessel. The fact that she needs a MAGIC tool to draw out excess energy so that she can survive, simply means that we know that the consuming needs some kind of outlet. The fact that everyone seemed very interested in her thanks to her other worldly knowledge, simply means that she can manipulate or use them to her advantage. Knowledge is power, and with all the knowledge she got from reading books, could've helped her easily get what she needed to survive. A. K. A, money to buy magic tools or more knowledge. The only thing is that she's not really worried about all that, all that she's worry about is her precious books. Which could've easily been obtained if she worked with Luxz more and also gave him more recipes. Heck, she could've opened a little stall that'll easily grow into a shop with all the things from our world, and made way more than Benno. But like I said, she's not worried about that. Mayne is childishly naive, she trust people waaay too easily, she doesn't care about the future consequences of her actions, she doesn't understand how valuable her other worldly knowledge is, and doesn't understand how she can use that knowledge to her advantage. Mayne could've been had enough money and no longer had to worry about the consuming, she could've already made her library, but she's not really thinking about any of that. She's way too obsessed with her books.

What you say is pretty sound. Also, I don't consider this an argument, it's just a simple debate/discussion. It may have sounded like I was faulting her (and I guess I kinda was), but I was mostly stating that that's her personality, that's who she is. I'm also well aware that she's a bookworm, but I was stating that her obsession can sometimes lead her into a bad situation. It was wise for her to try to exchange knowledge for materials, but when it comes to the whole merchant thing, she's not good at it because of her personality and obsession. She could've stayed partners with Lutz and opened a stall, to start small. Lutz would've been mostly in charge of making things, and because of these knew and unseen things, it would gather attention. Lutz and Mayne were already associated with Benno and the head merchant. By striking up a deal and losing about 1 or 2 recipes, it could've been possible to start the stall. Or at least something along those lines, I'm not very good at explaining what I'm thinking. But it basically would've never happened anyways because she doesn't care about that, or doesn't really think about it. As for the magic part, all that I said was that she needed some kind of outlet. What if she can find a way to release the pent up magic inside of her? Like if she can find a way to use it in bursts, or give some to somebody else? Seeing how it's supposed to be pretty natural occurrence, there must be a pretty natural way to cure/weaken it. I mean, we can only assume that magic came first and the magic tools came way after, and a good handful of people couldn't have died without notice. Or maybe some could have survived. Either way, there should be a natural way to solve the consuming. I also wasn't talking in a reader's prospective, I was talking in Mayne's prospective. While I was reading when we first met Benno, I instantly didn't trust him. It was the same as the merchant and his daughter. Even after Benno took Lutz and Mayne under his wings, and the daughter became more friendly with her, I didn't trust them in the slightest. It was because I can see that their end goal was how much profit they can make off of Mayne. You didn't need to have a reader's prospective to see that. Benno, a man who doesn't do stuff for free. The merchant, a man who built his way up solely for the survival of his daughter. The daughter, a little girl who is a victim of the consuming whose main objective is survival. Their goals are clear and it's safe to say that they'll do anything to reach it. The signs were there for Mayne to pick up, but she didn't see it or ignored it. Anyways, I don't know why everyone keeps getting bent out of shape of what other people says on this. In the end, it's all just opinions on the matter, it's not going to change anything. Though, I myself am just doing this for the heck of it. I can honestly care less. In the end I guess we can agree on the fact that this manga is pretty darn interesting (seeing how it caused a nice long debate/discussion).

I don’t want Sam to win no offense. But like Sam realized his feelings when Henry was going to leave him. I feel like it’s selfish for Sam to act this way. Not saying he’s bad. Seth on the other hand is still young and it’s his first love. He is childish but he reminds Henry of Sam too much. I don’t like how Henry keeps on thinking of Sam when he’s with Seth. But personally I’m rooting for Seth.
