Well, it makes sense since she's basically trying to summon a 'god' in their terms. Even if luminas is just a spirit in reality, he's still a high level one and their element's Lord at that, so... I think the timing for his summon is just right. It also shows MC's dedication and hard work at least instead of just summoning him with the power of friendship
