The brothers a fucking dumbass that pisses me off. He's selfish and he does shit on a whim without even thinking. He told his boyfriend he'd have money to pay and to break up with the woman before getting a single penny, he sold out the one person who'd been there for him and worked hard to keep him off the streets his entire life. He's blinded by his own problems that he can't see how he hurts people around him. He thinks that coming clean makes his actions any better.
Okay, but coming clean does make things better. Would you rather he had not said anything at all? I also don’t think he was completely selfish, yes he was doing it to keep his boyfriend but it’s because his boyfriend and his boyfriends mom weren’t in a good situation and he needed money, and money makes people desperate and stupid. He came clean because he realized that he couldn’t betray his brother and try to then turn around and save both situations, in the end the mom killed herself and the ML is still kidnapped.
Does that excuse what he’s done? No not at all. His actions have severe consequences, betraying his brother is what led the ML to getting raped. My point is that he is a stupid dumbass and had he actually just talked to his brother from the beginning a lot of things could’ve been avoided, but I think his guilt and the way he came clean is indicative that he isn’t inherently selfish, but his actions led to more damage than good. He should’ve realized earlier he can’t do things alone.
I get where you’re coming from but he didn’t “realize he couldn’t betray his brother”- he DID betray him when he failed to let MC know that enemy knows abt his plan to get his lover so he can at least drive asap to find ML
