I honestly really liked this. At first I thought the emperor was beyond redemption and simply needed to be killed (or that this would end up another stockholm syndrome story) but I loved Heun’s unwavering will in the beginning to get away. All the main characters from Heun to the head eunuch were writen with grate detail which allowed us to get to know them and their personalities. I also liked how the emperor learned for his past mistakes and how we (through Heun) got to see how his mind works and the twisted solution he use to think of to solve his problems. I think this insight into his character and both us and Heun getting to see him learn how to better communicate and regulate his emotions really allowed for us to better accept his redemption and be happy at the end when they where together.
