Wouldn't it be more romantic that the ML respect the FL and crown prince engagement thing that is why he wants to help to bring forward the cancelation of it so he can woo and pursue the FL freely? Of course there is the probability of the crown prince falling in love to the MC but if the ML succeded to break the engagement before the crown prince fell in love with the MC then he wouldn't have any reason to continue the engagement up to the wedding since they broke up the engagment.

i think eventually they’ll have an open discussion with all three of them and actually form a sort of “alliance” seeing as how lecians and the CP intentions and plans coincide. i think they’ll form a sort of contract where they MAY cancel their engagement after they achieve their goals. i don’t think his ego is that big, i mean it’s quite understandable where his attitude came from w/ the way he was acting towards her, and he did apologise. ofc this may all be speculation but it’s more feasible than him just seeing this as a “competition” now. he seems smarter than that.
