For someone who english is not my 1st languange, i think the second option is more appropriate bc in my personal experience, i can understand the language better if the person speaks slower. We are shown that the MC's position is chatting with a native speaker which is where i conclude that the MC 'maybe' can use 'basic' language

I think it is just me but seriously its not entirely the mc and his ex fault. Its the bully’s fault for doing all that. I know that communication from the mc side is critical but the fact the ex still coerce him to do something he doesn't want such as meeting with his bullies is still not in discussion.
