I'm so impressed with the mc. He's smart and quick to notice thing, not like the usual mcs in stories that are clueless and naive. I like how he stayed away from the guy that hurt him like a normal person will do in real life, not like the usual mcs that forgive a shit person so easily. God I love his character so fucking much.
I think one of the reason why people don't really like beta-turns-to-omega theme is because it's so overused maybe? Or a lot of people just like alpha-beta pairing because it's like the regular yaoi, where people can still love each other despite the relationship is considered taboo because you know, the 'normal' couple in that world is the one that can end up with 'proper family' like having kids, which in this case is omega-alpha pairing. I'm speculating here, so it might be wrong lmao, but still, it's okay to have different opinion. People have their own preferences after all, and while I understand sometimes it's annoying to read comments that complain about something in the story that they don't like, it's still useful for people that want to see what the story is about.
