This is apparently my 2nd time reading this so I kinda went in blind. I’m a sucker for psychological plot, kidnapping, stalking, and obsessive semes in BL. So it makes sense that this story was in my favorites. I loved the beginning, BUT ultimately it felt lacking in some areas. And thats when I started remembering the story. I felt the same the first time I read it: Its a good beginning but then my expectations were kinda let down towards the middle. Ending was ok, satisfactory. I feel like this story had many opportunities to be better but it just kept falling flat for me. I kept reading all the way because I just love these types of stories. I wish the MC was more assertive or at least came up with a better plan than stupidly kidnapping his kidnapper LMAO brain worms behavior. BUT I understand the author is aware of the shortcomings and flaws. She does a phenomenal job with Checkmate later on(even tho i’m not a fan of the roles reversing and an obsessive uke), her work in the psychological story aspect really improved and had me hooked! So I’m assuming this is her first psychological story and thus I can forgive her~
