Edith will almost die 2 times as of recent novel chapters. All because of Lise. The second time is the worst because it's absolutely clear to everyone that Lise is responsible but Cliff force Edith (who litteraly almost die the day before) to get up, march to Lise room and comfort her because she's crying as if she's the one injured
And he basically always belittle Edith everytime we see him
