Freedom of speech and freedom to have an opinion as well as making a joke is always allowed. In turn, freedom of consequences is not. You cannot expect everyone to have the same reaction. With freedom of speech comes freedom to interpret a message the way you would like.

Freedom of speech includes freedom to criticise. Its slowly getting to me how everyone is making a point thats damn obvious. Interpretation should be done while also understanding the intention of the other person. If you interpret things the way you like you tend to disconnect yourself further away from society.

I had an entire para written about the reason why people act racist/homophobic/transphobic is because the lack of actual real life exposure to any of them or knowledge about it but I decided to cut to the chase. People won't really change just because he lost his job, chances are he'll believe in his points even more and just not voice them out and does nothing to help further society

I am a person of colour and I've seen these kind of comments made often, its worrying but most of the times when you approach them and talk to them about it and make them realise where you are coming from, it helps change their views. I've said multiple times if you would have looked closely that I've said I find his comments unnecessary and hurtful.

I find it funny that letting people talk even if it is racist or anything else offensive is apparently "enabling". A racist joke or opinion doesn't automatically correlate to the death of coloured people. We get killed when we voice out our opinions or views or simply start stating straight out facts.We want to hear what you have to say.
