I understand not liking him or feeling sympathy, but the author doesn't expect you to.
Backstories serve the purpose of making a character less one dimensional, because we learn more about their mindset, motivations, and generally why they may have done the things they did.
You're not necessarily supposed to sympathize or like him, but it's a common way to write a more realistic evil character instead of just "yeah he evil, because he evil". I get why people are upset, but his backstory is necessary and interesting, otherwise he's just one of those manhwa family members who's cruel to the main character for no reason, which I see way too often.
Ceasar has been one of the best evil characters I've seen in this type of story.
I'm losing more and more interest and feel so disconnected from the plot.
I really liked the intriguing start, and I basically know all of the major plot points right until the end due to spoilers.
I really like where the story went in the end, but that's literally been my only driving force for the past 100 or so chapters. I can't even get into the more emotional situations or characters at all, because I'm so uninterested in the scenarios. It's practically the same reason why I disliked Tower of God.
I won't say the scenarios are repetitive since every scenario is different, but it makes the story feel... stale, I guess, stagnating, or whatever you may call it. Dokja repeatedly dying and coming back definitely feels repetitive by now, though, and it honestly just makes me roll my eyes when it happens.
And not only did I completely lose track of any sort of power scaling, but I don't see how clearing scenario after scenario would help Dokja reach his end goal. It feels too much like side questing to me. I guess I'm just generally not a fan of this type of story progression.
Maybe I need to just reread it at a later point to really get into the world again, but right now I feel so immensely disconnected that I just can't enjoy any of it. Maybe the story is too complex and convoluted for me to read it while chapters are still releasing (on top of the countless other manhwas I'm still reading and english not being my native language) . I already forgot a LOT and that's why I can barely make sense of many things going on right now, idrk.
Or maybe despite liking philosophical and deep stories, this one just isn't for me.
I will definitely let it marinate a lot for now and come back when it's close to the end
If it still doesn't click then it's really just not for me it seems, which would be unfortunate, because I like how the author made things come together later and the whole premise
I know the whole scenario thing isn't to my taste, but I don't want that to be the only reason to not enjoy the story, so I hope binge reading it would make it more enjoyable, because with the amount of characters constantly introduced through the scenarios I have a hard time keeping track of them if I take long breaks in between chapters
This whole "guiding is just an excuse for the characters to bang" has gotten so stale that I've lost all interest in the smut of these stories
Maybe I've just been spoiled by the handful of actual good guideverse stories out there too much
( ̄∇ ̄")
But everything's either on hiatus right now or hasn't even released the manhwa yet ╥﹏╥
The really good ones are:
Guiding Hazard
A guide out to succeed
Not amazing but still good:
How that guide is loved
Special guidance
B-class Guide (very questionable behavior by seme in ch17 but otherwise still better than a lot out there)
And my absolute fav so far, but sadly manhwa only has a Promo rn:
Does Spring come for the terminally I'll Esper
I love how people here tried to gaslight us with all kinds of excuses when MC and even Kang literally acknowledged that it went far beyond "rough"
Kindly keep your gaslighting and insults to yourself next time if you're only gonna embarrass yourself ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Nice to see it actually taken seriously by the characters for once, even though Kang's behavior right after he woke up still pissed me off and his emotionless face doesn't help the situation like, at all
It’s honestly worrying how many readers didn’t see a problem with how Seheon treated him. Admitting you like dark romance/more abusive sex in FICTION is one thing (and I don’t shame these people; it’s fiction and no real people are getting hurt). Outright bending over backwards and trying to explain how it’s all actually consensual though? That’s just flat out wrong. Yoonshin explicitly told Seheon he’s being too rough and even outright called it abuse in this chapter. I don’t know how much more clear it could possibly get.
Sex education failed so many people and it’s just sad.

I've never been this torn on a character like Ceasar.
I've seen plenty characters who hurt their loved one in order to "protect" them. But Ceasar is just on another level. The writing and his expressions just sell it way better.
I love Ceasar for how he's written. I hate Ceasar for what he's done.
I can't wait to see him suffer, but I also don't want to see him suffer, y'know.
Easily one of my favorite antagonists in a story like this.
