I genuinly enjoyed the story until MC's confinement. But the author didn't give a shit about this story from that point onwards. Everything went downhill.

The seme is annoyingly inconsistent just for plot's sake.
A clearly crazy character has good reason to act inconsistent, but that's not the kind of character he is. He wasn't even a red flag until the plot suddenly needed him to be. He was possessive, but that's about it.

Author just made him lose ALL braincells when he got angry just so that MC would have a reason to mistrust him and leave.
His accusations didn't make sense in the first place. He KNOWS how guiding works, and he knows MC doesn't.

Seme tells him multiple times he will not guide him without consent. Does so anyway later.
Seme says the thing he fears the most is MC hating him, but conveniently post-rape says he doesn't care if he hates him.
Seme doesn't care for MC's mental health, or he wouldn't have confined and raped him. But the whole fucking reason he even keeps the truth from MC is to protect his mental health.

Like, boi, make up your god damn mind! I bet you not even the author knows what seme really wants.

Then the whole memory drama was just an unnecessary mess.

MC made himself lose his memory with his ability, why did he not make himself remember the same way?
Why did he not use his ability on seme to tell him?
His ability is mind manipulation. Why can he suddenly give other people abilities at will?
I thought the powers came from the fissure, not because people wished for them like Peter Pan.

But I guess otherwise his bro would've been a pointless character, because he conveniently got the ability from MC to see people's past, yknow, what 80% of the plot was about. But he didn't really have any relevancy aside from telling seme who the white haired guy is.

And the ending.... exists. Idk what else to say about it.

This had huge potential for a non-toxic guideverse story with seme guide and uke esper, but it went all to shit halfway through.

After being met with so many brutal rape fetish manhwas, this was unironically a pretty decent read, and I'm so used to much worse written ML's, who treat the MC 10 times worse, that I can't even be mad at him

Man... my standards are slowly making their way to earth's core, aren't they

Gotta say that artstyle is gorgeous tho. And I actually grew to like the MC more than I thought, if only he would stop throwing hands over every single thing

To be honest, like all Chinese manhua, art is pretty but this manhua doesn’t do the story Justice. Novel is far better written and characterization is very three dimensions. Someone write on Chinese reviews that it’s easier for authors to write a protagonist likeable and morally correct, but it’s hard to write a character who is flawed and has shortcomings. The novel just makes the character’s psyche realistic without victimizing MC completely yet makes people still sympathize with him. Thus, I just get him throwing hands every time.

My life feels so empty without the gang. Please come back soon ╥﹏╥

Maybe I will go read the novel after all. Even though I know I will constantly mix up characters because I struggle with the names

This was easily the worst redemption story I've ever read.

Not only is the misunderstanding just ridiculous, seme is just an asshole even 10 years later, and his idea of redemption is using the child to get back together.
He acts like it's so obvious he's still in love with him after treating him like a whore literally 1 day earlier.

He's also so uncomfortably pushy.
He's like the stranger on the street who's harassing you despite you telling him no like 50 times, with the difference that this roblox looking mf is acting all cutesy while doing it, which is even more off putting

By the end of the story I honestly liked the blonde a lot more than the seme

I kinda forgot I read this before but while reading I remembered that I liked it, but didn't know why it didn't make it into my fav list.

After re-reading I know

I liked this story particularly because we actually got a real reason why the seme treated MC badly in the past life, which tied right into a good lore of the huge differences between two species, which lead to the behavior in the past life that would be considered cruel by human standards, but normal by Jin standards (the race of seme).

The ML was still overly cruel despite this, because he was just arrogant and aggressive, but many things made sense once we learned more about the Jin.

The other particular thing I liked about this story: The reason for the seme being so vastly different in the present timeline. It makes sense because this time he actually spent much more time with MC early on and learned alot about humans he didn't know in his first life, which caused a huge change in his personality early on.

Usually when the seme suddenly acts so differently it's giving me whiplash, but here it felt more logical and natural.

Now the gripe I have with this story is:

1. While we get told what the differences are between humans and Jin, and how that might've lead to misunderstandings in the 1st timeline, it's inconsistent. We are told Jin don't understand the concept of monogamy, but seme hates just thinking about MC with someone else, which means he DOES understand it, but he didn't think MC would feel the same? That was so dumb and didn't make sense. I understand the author wanted to make the characters understand with an example but this caused an inconsistency that ruined the whole point

2. The moment seme got his memories back and found out how cruel he was to MC was very underwhelming. It felt like he didn't remember everything and barely reacted. Would've loved to see him regret more after that. Actually, I think this was the point the story picked up it's pace in general, so maybe this was the result of the creator being rushed.

3. The sidestories were just dumb and kinda boring

All in all I enjoyed the story a lot, and the seme didn't piss me off as much as usual, simply by being provided a decent, and dare i say it, logical reason for most of his behavior, instead of just making him your typical angy rapey seme for no reason

Leilei August 4, 2025 4:56 pm

Listen, it would've been completely fine for the plot if the only SA that happened was by seme's brother. Ido made him suffer enough I bet, the added SA by HIM was completely unnecessary. Or if they at least kept it at that one time (I just know they don't)

I kinda hoped the glimpses we got through Sejin were all the brother and not Ido himself

Idk where I got that hope from, I should stop expecting manhwa's to not include some weird torture fetish just for the sake of it. Thankfully I knew it was gonna come so I just skipped past it

I fully expect Ido to get angy when he finds out about the documents and rape him again, because yknow...that's just what you do when you're angry
╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

manhwa seme and their anger issues I swear to god

Edit: oh yeah and I forgot to add bipolar. They're all bipolar

I haven't even read it yet and I'm already pissed at the seme.

I kinda get the gist of what's going on, but I'm disappointed with how they decided to end the season.

From what I understood, uke has problems understanding people's thought process and feelings, he even literally told seme this. Instead of utilizing this to make the characters learn from each other and grow together, it really just seems to be there for causing drama.

Seme doesn't seem to even try to understand uke at the end. I understand why he's angry, and he's rightfully so, but if he truly loved him, he would've wanted to understand, no? You naturally calm down after a while and try to talk it out again after that. If not to mend the relationship, then at least to understand and find closure.

I find it so childish of adult characters always going to such extremes likes ghosting your LOVER for literal years over such, honestly, trivial things.
What does it matter now why he approached you? He's come to like you, and told you this. He has trouble with understanding people, and he told you this. But seme simply refuses to believe or understand him, calls him selfish when he isnt any better, but claims he likes him?

Uke isn't innocent either. I get he has trouble understanding feelings and all, but that doesn't stop him from speaking his thoughts. Had he told the seme what he told US through thought, a lot of this drama could've probably been avoided. Just communicate ffs

I honestly think this whole thing could've been better written from what I can judge so far.
Unintentional Love Story had basically the same situation, but the characters were so well written that it didn't make you mad at all. You could really understand both characters perfectly in that moment and just felt bad for both, and it got resolved perfectly, too.

I guess I kinda expected to see something similar here. Especially due to the high rating.

I'm gonna wait until the next season is further along, if they're gonna go with some shit like seme got himself a new lover in those 4 years I'm done with story before I even started it.

i think he ghosted the uke bcz of his mother, and if you read the manga u will know how controlling his family are, esp his grandfather.

I kinda figured just from the short scene I saw them lol

I will definitely give it a read if the next season goes well. I really hope he has a good reason for those 4 years, and not just him being angry

Since this got canceled I went and read the novel and I can't recommend it enough.

It was so good and the seme has the best character development ever and falls for the uke so naturally.
The smut is also much more slow burn in the novel if I remember right. I think only the side stories are rated mature (idk it's been a while).

Overall really wholesome with green flag seme.

Sadly the site where I read it doesn't exist anymore.
This is the only site I could find where it seems to be complete. Looks like it's the official English translator's website so you'll have to pay to read:

It was good and I liked both MCs a lot, but the pacing was way too fast.
Everything resolved instantly without the slightest build up.

It didn't leave me any time to get invested or really feel anything tbh

This had huge potential had it been longer and more drawn out, but was still a good short read

Leilei August 17, 2025 8:53 am

I totally get why people might dislike this but honestly I loved it. Not saying it's a masterpiece or anything but...

The suspense was crazy, the writing was good, and while the seme was a psychopath, he was likeable. Instead of a stone faced top who's only an asshole for the sake of being an asshole and a malice to the uke, we got a genuine psychopathic murderer who loved the uke in the only way he knows how.

There was no pointless rape going on in every chapter, mostly dub-con because the situation was fucked, but seme explicitly tells him he can say no and is free to leave, several times, tho the consequences would've been a bit uh... yknow.
And dick sizes are somewhat normal sized, can you imagine that? No asses have been destroyed here.

Uke is smart, and watching these two felt a bit like Light vs Kira to some extent, haha. He also didn't just suddenly turn dumb or anything, no he's a smart pretty bean all the way through. Seme is just equally smart
But lemme just tell you the police is absolutely useless here, holy moly

I liked the ending. It's kinda what you expected and while they could've chosen a different route that would've also been satisfying I didn't mind the way it ended. It just fit.
Seme is a serial killer, and that doesn't change. He doesn't magically get his mental health back and stop in the name of love or something, his character stays true to himself throughout the entire story. But I liked him in a way you usually like good written villains. You don't condone what they do, but you still root for them from time to time.

What I didn't like so much were the sidestories. I know what the author tried to do with the first half,
but I think it was totally unnecessary. We did get a bit more insight into their relationship and thoughts, but eh... could've done that without whatever random shitshow the first half was.

There were a few things I'd have loved to see a bit more explored in the story. Like getting more details on how the seme does things, how he keeps himself hidden, stuff like that.

All in all it was a really fucked up but enjoyable read, something I can't say often about a toxic story, and even less so about the seme in it.

If I had to describe their love I would say it was beautiful in a very twisted way.

Oh yeah and fuck seme's dad bruh, that man needed Jesus the most

If I had to give you one advice while reading this, it's to stop at the ending of the main story. Don't read the side stories. The side stories give a bit more insight into everything, but imo it's not worth it. The main story ending was good.
