cried twice while rereading this and i can i just say that this story is exactly the reason why i fucking hate the church? sure religion is an important part of peoples culture and blah blah blah but i would rather spend the time praying for some who the fuck knows what being??? i mean ive been an atheist since i was a baby (parents are religious at all) but i just dont see the importance of such things when the world is literally burning to the ground.

i dunno how to feel this from the first 14 chapters because it kinda feels off? like the lack of explanation for the parents disappearance and the spirits (how they work) makes the world seem more flat and fictional. also idk why but it might just be me and my fucked brain but why does it seem like the mc's cousin and her are getting kinda like pushed to have a relationship? like the mc's motivation to interact with the male lead (her cousin) is also not established but she just likes him. maybe that simplicity is what makes this manhwa a more chill and enjoyable read tho. obviously the male lead is gonna be the cousins close aid since he got introduced early and incest is a no. in addition, i'll like to say that making this an isekai/reincarnation and a villainous manhwa was kinda unnecessary since just having the mc stand as a 'poor commoner and country bumpkin girl is brought to the palace, discovers shes actually a princess, but has to deal with the cold reality of the palace?!' would've been more fitting. they don't really put those two aspects to any good use.

it's not easy to just "explain" things bc 1) it takes courage to open up ur trauma to other people esp if to a loved one or someone u care about 2) saying it means ur brain will be forced to relive it again and the amount of progress u had done to heal could be brought back to square one
ghosting could be a defense mechanism to a traumatized person. and i get the part ur saying "just bc someone had a traumatic past doesnt mean they can treat people like that". the thing is, some traumatized people are not aware at first that theyre hurting people. our brain is very fascinating and is our very first line of defense. some of our unconscious actions (i.e defense mechanism; ghosting) are done by our brains once our fight or flight response is triggered. our brains just basically want us to survive and are acting out for our survival
