Stalking horse... haha! Sorta reminded me of Kenkyo, Kenjitsu o Motto ni Ikite Orimasu (light novel) where the MC calls the student council president "fellow stalking horse" because as much as he likes and is friendly with the heroine (not the MC) it seems to be predestined for her to end up with the emperor(niclname of a powerful boy in school).
(Fellow stalking horse is also ordained by her as the vice chief of a certain village...) Just wanted to point it out because I love that light novel.
I kinda want her to end up with the black haired huy from chapter 1, though, because they look better together and he's nicer in my opinion.
