It feels like it coz it is what's happening. Citrus is very popular in China, in fact a lot of Chinese yuri webnovels I read reference Citrus. Keep a eye on cheerful blondie/strict black hair couplings, citrus fruit (usually orange or lemon) mentions, or the incest themes, (segue: Citrus is barely incestuous imo, I mean they became step-siblings a day before they met... Childhood friends are more incestuous than them lol) and you'll see how much the Baihe community likes Citrus.
Thanks for shining a light on this. I always felt most yuri manhua was similar to Citrus. I didn't know Citrus was so popular in China. Citrus is not a bad manga but I wish we were told more different stories. For the past few years weather its manga, manhua or manhwa its follow a formulaic structure. Its either trap in a video game or having a crush on your step sister smh

i feel like weve gained a deeper understanding of why he likes eri. before it seemed super surface level, without this chap i would've questioned how deep his feelings actually go tbh. Plus we see that eri has always prioritized fuyuki so much so that she befriends and watches over him just for fuyukis sake. Honestly to me this chapter just tells me that dude is so oblivious to others feelings and his love is surface level cause why is the moment you fell for Eri is on the same day she tells you that “the only reason she even talked to and befriended you is cause of fuyuki” like what? And like he never took a minute throughout his whole life and wonder why the heck does Eri prioritize fuyuki so, so much more than him to the point where not only does he have to wait till fuyuki to not be around, he has to beg fuyuki not to come just for alone “time” like this isn’t normal for a partner to have to go through just to send time alone with his gf, lol.
