That question is an indication of suice thought so even it is not clear it most likely true he will do it. So sad. I believe they did leave him even though it is not explicitly explained. Well, the key scene would be when he was described to be okay since he has changed, the father change, and his friends finally understand him while the reality it was the otherwise. Thus, lead to his suicidal thought.

Just a little observation... I could really tell that Hui is starting to have feelings for him but, because of his transformation and since he isn't human after all he doesn't even know what the feelings he's been feeling is it love or just his physical change. I liked how the author made use of these traits. It's sooo cute you can really feel the emotion on Hui's part. CAN'T WAIT FOR MORE UPDATESS.
