Maybe it was all to buy that holy relic(slightly impossible since they are big treasures) or maybe she won one at the house of the protagonist that one night where everyone was drunk (more credible but still impossible). All I can say is that we don't know much about Yona other than being a super materialistic person. She can very well be a fallen noble or the princess of a fallen country who had a great debt and had to buy back the holy relic (family heirloom) hence the tendency to be materialistic.
