This is kinda hard to follow. I think there’s just chunks of information that should be included in this... I didn’t even know that she didn’t want to be the queen or that the 3 trial was even changed until right when it happened. Her goals are so unclear. I’m assuming she’s just here to keep her sister from suffering the same fate and possibly getting revenge(?).

It’s one thing to leave the obvious unsaid but it’s another to not give vital exposition to make the story make sense. Take an instance where a character is eating food. We, as an audience, don’t need to know where that person got the food from. But take the situation in this story, where a ‘plot twist’ happens where a trial challenge had changed. As a story, it should have set up what the 3 original challenges were prior to making a reveal that doesn’t hold weight, because it seems like it was just an ass pull with no set up.
Can she stay chubby? It feels so refreshing to see different body shapes as FLs. Judging from the cover, it seems like that won’t be the case for this novel. I’m still gonna read it regardless, but if anyone has any reccs for a chubby female protag id be gratefulヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~
How about "I'll save this damn family"
I think she later on loses weight tho

She's not only chubby though, she's obese. I think it's pretty unhealthy for her but nvm it's fiction. It would be good if she only loose the right amount and stay thicc.
It would be so nice if she got some muscles considering all the exercises she's doing but it's probably all gonna disappear and she's gonna be skinnnnnyyyy like everyone wants her to be like

Good point, as long as she’s healthy and happy! I think itd make for a really refreshing take on the genre if they has more body shapes that aren’t just slim.
The manga cover agrees with everything you said.
It's Asian beauty standard, what would you expect? I don't a romance manga that explores different body shapes of women.
She’s not going to stay chubby.
I was just asking for some variety in these stories. Also “it’s asian beauty standard, what would you expect” seems like a dated view imo. Like we should expect these stories to have no variety with their main characters at all... like it’s some taboo that people of all sizes just aren’t allowed to have a romance story. “The missing O” is a great example of what I was asking for in a story. There’s a lot of different people in the story who don’t look like models and they also have a lot of time focusing on their romantic lives. So don’t come saying that it’s just something we should expect it when we see no diverse bodies in our stories because of a cultural and societal standard. It’s already been done before, I was just asking if there were different ones like it that have been hiding from me. Idk what you were trying to say with that other part of ur message so I’ll leave it at this.
I think you misunderstood my reply. I'm mocking the authors because they're following the society's standards and that they won't risk trying variety of body shapes for the sake of visual. What I am saying with, 'what do you expect?' is that a lot of authors especially Asian ones (Japanese mangas, Korean manhwas) likes to portray skinny girls so we can't really expect anything from them because they follow the common.
Ohh my gosh, I’m sorry for the defensive response then! Totally misunderstood that, my bad.
Hell yeah, that would be cool af. She even said that she wants to be strong in the first chapter.
In the cover she looks like she might be underweight and that just ain't healthy for her. She is obese now and that isn't healthy either. She could be chubby and healthy (based on BMI.) Tbh chubby or muscly would be much healthier than her being underweight.
