In the novel he marries Lize and has an unhappy life with her cause she batshit crazy and narcissistic. I think he divorces her later or something I dunno. Don’t care about that mf. Birds of a feather flock together anyways

**This is gonna be from what I remember. If anyone remembers something different feel free to correct me.

Cliff is on a harder trance than any other character since he IS the ML. He ends up marrying Lize.
She starts to change a lot, then she fked up trying to get back on the original story and get some praises from her father/mother in law but most importantly The Royal family. That's when he finally divorced her, cause even himself can't believe she thought what she did was ok (she gets send to a monastery or something like that). He ends up marrying another lady that is very nice and capable, but not that "pretty" compare to Lize.

Also, he apologies to Killeon and Edith. He even wants to give his position as the head of the family to Killeon. Which Killeon rejects and assures Cliff that he is still good as the head of the family.

Actually there’s a lot of incorrect points lol:

Cliff was influenced by her powers but was not brainwashed. Even after she lost her power over them cliff still was fully obsessed with her and loved her as she was. He knew about her evil plans and even said he would’ve been willing to help her take Edith out. Even after losing control of the influence, he was the one who insisted on marrying her anyways and literally made a contract that’s said:
1) cliff must always defend/protect lize
2) cliff must never try to divorce lize

Cliff made that contract and agreed to it in order to show his devotion to her. They get married and due to Edith saying she should just stop pretending to be nice, lize shows her true selfish personality. The duke and duchess still liked lize even without the influence due to them watching lize grow up for years, so they couldn’t punish her or hate her. But lize was greedy so she wanted a huge wedding and wanted to throw huge parties that they couldn’t afford. The duke and duchess started to get tired of her selfishness. Cliff also would argue with lize over those things and would get tired too.

The reason they divorced was not because cliff wanted to, it’s because lize was punished for her crime. She basically wanted to take credit for finding a long-lost royal child, but couldn’t find him so she made another kid pretend and lie that he was the real one. When the royal family found out she lied, she imprisoned her and she was supposed to have a huge punishment by insulting the royal family. But Edith was the one who made her punishment not that bad? The emperor made cliff and lize’s marriage void, by divorcing them. And lize’s punishment was changed to being sent to a monastery. Cliff was still sad that he had to be separated from lize and he didn’t believe he’d fall in love again. Until he married someone else. (Though the love wasn’t like how he loved lize which was like passionate- but more-so slow and comforting love)
