As an hardcore atheist this story really makes me both sad and angry. Just accept others people's love and life choices for fuck sake. Asshole Danny. (︶︿︶)=凸

Not hating on what you believe in or what he does. I also agree that he shouldn't hate what other people love or choose to live, but I don't think his faith is main issue Danny is dealing with. It's tradition. He lost his brother who he can never see again cause he fell in love with the outside world, he rushed to confess to Chloe cause he was afraid to lose her to it as well. So here to me he mainly seems afraid to loose Theo. He is constantly checking up on Theo and he himself said they can do what ever they decide during that time drink gamble, use drugs. He even says that the uke can come visit ( going to ignore his homo comments cause that seemed rushed in) he just doesn't want him to take Theo away to where he can never see him. The homo thing did get me off guard and make me pissed thought. I wasn't expecting that at all and it was uncalled for. but besides that I feel he is just afraid to loose him and isn't seeing what is best for Theo.

I agree, Danny don't want to lose his precious friend. But what pisses me of the most is "if you don't live like us and by our rules, you get exiled". It's a common thing amongst many groups. And I know of many people who have become outcast amongst their family and friends because they want to live their own life. It's heartbreaking.
It's a happy, fluffy and lovely story. The parents are really great. Every parents should be accepting like this.
