The gorilla comment was very much mean but a call back to OP's "real man" comment. I have rarely seen guys with that much body hair, and if they do, that's absolutely fine too. It's body hair, some people have more and some less. It doesn't mean it's more or less realistic or like a "real man" either ways.

It's a matter of taste, if you want to see more characters drawn with hair I suggest you find the artists who do, I know a couple that do it well and it's not a coincidence that they have some of my favorite artstyles
