I have a feeling the uke is actually the bad guy in this story. No necessarily evil, just have a feeling he's done something terrible in his past he can't own up to.
I think it was shown in previous chapters that he has survivor's guilt over his family's death, for some reason he blames himself. Can't remember tho if it was really his fault or not.
