You are right. He's not a bad guy, he's just very overprotective since Daiki's wife was killed. Daiki only finds him bothersome. I guess he's the type to torture who hurts his family that's why.

Yeah it confused me if Hayan is Hoyeon, why would Gyuhwool put them in a same cell when he's mostly jealous of Hoyeon "STEALING" Jinyoo from him. But then again why was Hayan kidnapped in the first place? He's got nothing to do with Jinyoo and Gyuhwool was only planning revenge for Jinyoo so no innocent people should have been involved. This was the only question I'm so confused about since everything else was easy to understand.
