The Crown prince has a country to take care of, the merchant has a business to run, so my guess is that the knight is the one who waited!! Also the knight was introduced "first" in the story as well, and usually the one who is introduced first turns out to be the ML. Hence for that reason I am betting on "Balta" to be the ML

I really like stories that keep it vague enough so that you can formulate your own thoughts and ideas first but not too vague so you dont know whats going on!! :D
