Technically she believes the person she likes is the OG Agnes and she has no clue how the current FL is, especially since FL is STILL acting as the “mean girl” OG Agnes was and not her actual self. Her affection for FL is non-existent cause it’s only towards the OG Agnes. Doesn’t matter if mc is the current soul occupying her body. It’s all about the soul of who lady Devon truly likes, not the shell of a body.

duchess back then typically meant tht they only got the title because they were married. Duke on the other hand means it was the title of the family. Given tht also women didn't hold titles back them only a name because they were married or part of the family.
