You gotta understand, not everywhere is like Europe, america, Canada and Australia. In majority of the world, homosexual is rejected because the major religions of the world reject it. In many countries it is still a crime and you cannot even debate it because they will arrest you under suspicion. I HOPE they can start off with TOLERATE, better than getting stoned.

I am from a developing country as well and until recently sodomy was a serious crime here. What I believe is law makers can whatever rules they want cause they see what's benefits them the most. It's the mindset of the people that I want to change. And yes no religion have taught to hate or discriminate against any race, community or gender. It's their own perspectives to use religion as an excuse to make others' lives miserable. True being tolerant is way better than being homophobic. But that doesn't change the fact that deep inside that person have still have ill feelings and hatred against homosexuality. So even if it takes time I want people who says that they can ""

can "tolerate" gays but can't accept them should try to change their attitudes before they die. And we as an outsider have limits as well. We can't force them. It should come from within.
For instance women being to able to vote was something the men didn't like it or just tried to tolerate. But today all the democratic nations have equal voting rights to all genders and that's not even a big issue.

There will be places where is will never be accepted because of the act of sodomy, which is against people's religion. In some states in the US even, even thought gay marriage is legal, people can still deny to serve them or provide of their wedding bc of their religion. Law makers can make things legal, but if the people who vote them in say no, they can legit lose their life in some countries.

Yep that's what. Religion has always been used to prove something which is not considered normal and it will persists. But it's because people who have raised their voices atleast did change the world for a little better. As for the laws and lawmakers issue, they always do what they think is right and sometimes it may or may not well synchronise with the public. So law really don't make a great deal if people don't try to change. And that's what I have been saying again and again! Even if gay marriages are legal in US, people still bully and at times even sexually abuse the minors. And the ones who 'tolerate' will gladly turn a blind eye to it forgetting the fact that such treatment is inhuman regardless of what community you belong. And if you are talking about how religion brings forth such disparity, then homosexuality is not the only issue. There are countless others as well. And I have personally felt that. Even an highly educated wealthy man living in the best place of this world can be homophobic and so can a highly superstitious woman from some remote corner of this world. What we need the most to tackle this issue is something that can never be solely changed by lawmakers but it's the people who needs to change their mindset and needs to be exposed to what they see as something "different". And yea I am talking about people from completely democratic countries and not others cause non-democratics have a lot more on their plates. For them even survival is at stake.
